Q: What items are included in my exterior inspection?

A: Depending on the plan; the roof, siding, windows, doors, decks, exterior electrical, exterior stairs, gutters, exposed hurricane clips, and bracing if structure is on pilings.

Q: What are the expert recommendations that are a part of the inspection process?

A: These are items that would benefit the home owner in a storm situation but are independent from the Coast Shield program, such as upgrades, new systems and larger repairs.

Q: How long do I have to wait for a service once activated?

A: The initial inspection will be scheduled with your expert within 30 days, the during and after services depend on the plan and is typically less than 24 hours due to the critical nature of these services.

Does Coast Shield cover all structures on my property?

A: Coast Shield covers one single family home 6,000 square feet or less.

How do I receive my exterior inspection report?

A: The report will be emailed to your email address on file or mailed upon request.

Does Coast Shield help me file a claim and work with my current insurance company in the event of a storm?

A: Yes, Coast Shield provides an insurance claim specialist that can work with you through the whole process from the beginning of filing to actually finishing any restoration work.

In the event of a storm, if I have damage do I have to use my Coast Shield Pro or can I use another professional to complete the work?

A: You may use any professional that you want; however, we are not responsible for any work or interactions between you and out of network professionals. We do usually recommend getting pricing from other professionals for comparison purposes in some cases.

What is included with the hurricane shutter service?

A: The labor to install and uninstall your hurricane shutters or plywood protection on exterior openings.

Does Coast Shield automatically send out experts during a storm event?

A: The member must activate the service during such a storm event.

Can I call for a service more than once during my 12-month contract?

A: Yes, for an additional cost depending on the subscription plan.

What items will Coast Shield move before and after a storm to my designated safe area?

A: For Platinum Shield Only: Outdoor furnishings, grills, outdoor accessories, pots, planters and in some cases small statuary or decorative items.

What is included in the tarping service after a storm?

A: All necessary roof tarps, including window and door coverings as to secure the structure from further damage.

How long is my storm defense use agreement with Coast Shield?

A: Your agreement with Coast Shield is based on a 12-month period and automatically renews annually at the end of that period.

Are there any fees not covered in the annual membership amount?

A: Yes, there is a service fee for the during and after services in the program that vary according to the selected plan. Also, if the same service is requested more than once during the annual contract there will be a charge for that service.

Can I cancel my membership at any time?

A: Your membership follows an actual storm season, so your membership is for a 12 month period and can only be cancelled within 30 days of the contract’s end. In emergency situations exceptions can be made by calling us at 1-888-383-6583.

Can I transfer my membership to a new property owner at my service address?

A: Yes the contract can be transferred to the new owner.

How do I make sure that my storm defense plan continues/renews when the year is up?

A: If you have set up automatic payments with us, we will send next year’s agreement within 30 days of your current contact expiration date. If you do not have automatic payments set up then you can manually log into your account or call us at 1-888-383-6583.


Q: Do I determine when I want to schedule my inspection?

A: Yes, you can schedule any service any time you want that service. Just activate the specific form for that particular service in the members-only area. Your services does not need to be activate immediately upon subscribing.
